About — Noelene Regan Art

Born on Binjarup country, I am a descendant of the Yamatji and Noongar peoples of the Southwest of Western Australia.

Through art I aim to share stories, culture and country in a contemporary way.

For the most part, my art reflects a connection to Country and is used to develop a modern interpretation of Aboriginal culture. Drawing on stories from elders and family members of the Stolen Generation, I have been creating art from an early age.

I also love to experiment and explore a variety of mediums as this gives me the opportunity to learn new things about the way I create. I believe you should maintain a sense of curiosity and community. With this curiosity I seek to understand, explore and collaborate.

I have a Diploma of Visual Arts, and for a period of time I lectured at TAFE in Perth, Western Australia. I have curated exhibitions and facilitated public works of art. My works are held in private and public collections across Australia and overseas.
